Turning my House into a Restaurant!

Yup the idea might sound crazy but we actually did it. I and my mom were the customer and my dad was the waiter.

As the global pandemic was continuing to rage on and all of us were stuck at home, my family and I were getting really bored, when we thought why not make our house into a restaurant? The idea suddenly popped into my head when we were scrolling through a food delivery app to eat something tasty. So we ordered some tasty stuff and then we all started getting ready.

My dad wore a nice striped shirt, and I wore a gorgeous white gown with a ribbon tied at the top, with a purple flower design, and my mom wore a white, green, and red striped gown that we had bought before the pandemic thinking that we will be able to go out. So, we all set up some light music playing from the speaker, a nice jazz background music you normally hear when you go to a fancy restaurant. Some white and pale yellow coloured fairy lights were also added, and it gave the house a final and grand finish.

Next, I and mom went and stood outside the door, then we rang the bell and were greeted by my dad who looked very handsome in his striped shirt, I took in the entire decoration, the beautiful fairy lights illuminating the room, pink, silk ribbons tied to the door handles and the jazz music completely set the mood, it was like I really was in a restaurant.

Then my dad took us to the dining table, where we gave our order, of course, we already knew what was there so we ordered that. We got orange juice in wine glasses topped with basil and a lemon slice. Then we got our starter on a beautiful white plate with gold accents, our fork, spoon, and knife wrapped in a napkin. The food was extremely delicious, the grilled chicken grilled to perfection. Then we got our main course, noodles with chicken pieces. The noodles were soft and not too sticky making them perfect. I enjoyed every bit of it.

It was extremely funny, to see my dad dressed up like a waiter and serving us food, and the food was ordered from a five-star restaurant. Then we all sat down together and enjoyed the food. It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience and we all loved it.

Scoob!

Movie Review

Scoob is an extremely funny movie, directed by Tony Cervone as it is animated and it has a talking dog, what more could you want

The beginning of the movie is very heart-warming, it starts with a little dog running along the coast of vegas where he finds a lonely little kid called Shaggy. Shaggy save the little dog from getting taken away from the police as it had stolen meat from the shop, by telling it is his dog and in the process giving his name - Scooby-Dooby-Doo. He takes Scooby home and gives him his collar and Scooby and Shaggy both promise each other that they will never leave each other's side.

So one cold and misty Halloween night Shaggy and Scooby go trick-or-treating when two bullies approach them and the bullies throw their candy into the haunted house. This is when they meet Fred, Daphne, and Velma. Now they go to find Scooby and Shaggy's candy in the haunted house when they discover a big secret.

I think the way all of the characters met up is extremely heart-warming and each time the characters help each other when they meet, Shaggy helps Scooby from the police and Velma, Fred, and Daphne help Scooby and Shaggy from the bullies.

Seeing their mystery-solving abilities the group forms a detective group called 'Mystery Inc'. Ten years later they find themselves with their van which they call the 'Mystery Machine. A great music artist decides to invest in their group but does not want Scooby and Shaggy involved.

This part of the movie makes me a little angry and sad at the same time. Just because of money Fred, Daphne and Velma can't abandon their friends, and Scooby and Shaggy look so sad that I feel their sadness in me. It is like when you make a new friend and you guys become best friends but a new person comes and your friend leaves you just to be the new girl/boy's friend.

After their friends leave them, Scooby and Shaggy go to a bowling alley where they get attacked by robots! Then a superhero gang comes and saves them and a whole mystery about Scooby unfolds. Seeing this news, the rest of Mystery Inc. rushes to the place where they get details from the bowling counter.

Then they set off on their Mystery Machine. This is where the bad guys come in, Fred, Daphne, and Velma are evicted by them but they somehow escape and learn the whole truth about and around Scooby.

Will the friends be re-united again? and what is the big secret around Scooby?

To know that you need to check out the movie Scoob! on Prime Video

Overall I would rate this movie 5 stars as it is jaw-clenching and you will be biting your nails till the end.

Five Children and It is a children's novel by English author, Edith Nesbit. It was originally published in 1902 in a magazine under the title The Psammead or The Gifts, with a chapter appearing each month from April to December. The stories were then expanded into a novel.

Five brothers and sisters:

  • Anthea, known as Panther, is the second eldest, is kind and sensible
  • Robert, known as Bobs, the middle child, is humorous with a quick temper
  • Jane, known as Pussy, is a bit oversensitive and is easily frightened
  • Hilary, known as the Lamb, is a bit too young to have a personality
  • 'It' is the Psammead, a grumpy, ancient, wish-granting fairy who causes trouble for the children but grows fond of them

The Plot

The story begins when a group of children move from London to the countryside of Kent. The five children - Cyril, Robert, Anthea, Jane and the baby called the Lamb are playing in the gravel pit as they have nothing to do and their parents need to leave when they find a grumpy, ugly Psammead, a sand fairy with the ability to grant wishes with the condition that the wishes will turn into rocks after sunset.

All of the wishes go terribly wrong. The children wish to be beautiful, but the servants do not recognise them and shut them out of the house. They wish to be rich, then find themselves with a gravel pit full of gold guineas that no shop will accept as they are no longer used, so they can't buy anything. The wish for wings seems to be going well, but at sunset the children find themselves stuck on top of a church bell tower with no way to get down, getting them into trouble with the gamekeeper who must take them home. Robert is bullied by the baker's boy, then wishes that he was bigger making him eleven feet tall, and the other children show him at a travelling fair for coins. They also wish themselves into a castle, only to learn that it is being attacked, while a wish to meet real Red Indians ends with the children nearly being scalped.

The children's baby brother, the Lamb, is the victim of two wishes gone wrong. In one, the children become annoyed with their brother and wish that someone else would want him, leading to a situation where everyone wants the baby, and the children must avoid kidnappers and Gypsies. Later, they wish that the baby would grow up faster, causing him to grow into a selfish, smug young man who leaves them all behind.

Finally, the children accidentally wish that they could give a wealthy woman's jewellery to their mother, causing all the jewellery to appear in their home. It seems that the gamekeeper, who is now their friend, will be blamed for the robbery, and the children must beg the Psammead for a complex series of wishes to set things right. After mom and dad return will the children ever get another wish? Will they meet the Psammead ever again?
